Batters with most centuries for NZ in ICC ODI tournaments
What's the story
Rachin Ravindra has announced himself in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy with a stunning century against Bangladesh.
This comes after a facial injury ruled him out of New Zealand's first match against Pakistan.
However, Ravindra showed resilience and skill as the Kiwis accomplished the 237-run target in Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, here we look at the NZ batters with the most tons in ICC ODI events.
#1
Rachin Ravindra - 4
With his heroics against the Tigers, Ravindra became the first NZ batter to slam four hundreds in ICC ODI events.
The Bangladesh game marked his debut in the competition as he made 112 runs from 105 balls.
The only other ICC ODI event that has seen Ravindra's participation is the 2023 World Cup.
The southpaw smashed a whopping 578 runs in the competition at 64.22. This includes three tons.
Ravindra also scored two fifties in the event.
#2
Kane Williamson - 3
Former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson also features on this list.
With 1,518 runs across 35 games at 58.38, the talisman is NZ's leading run-getter in ICC ODI events.
While he has breached the 50-run mark 12 times in the competition, Williamson scored hundreds on three occasions.
One of his tons came in the Champions Trophy, against Australia in 2017.
#3
Nathan Astle - 3
The only other Kiwi batter with more than two tons in this regard is Nathan Astle.
The former top-order batter owns a pretty ordinary overall record in ICC competitions.
He scored 747 runs across 35 matches at a paltry average of 23.34.
However, three of his four 50-plus scores in these tournaments were converted into tons.
Like Williamson, Astle also owns a solitary CT hundred.
