Pro Kabaddi League auction: Who are the most expensive players?
422 players are going under the hammer for the sixth edition of Pro Kabaddi League, as 12 teams look to build the right squad. Each team can have a maximum of 25 players. Further, the team must have a minimum of 18 players. Here is the list of most expensive players sold on Day 1 of Pro Kabaddi League auction.
Deepak Niwas Hooda to Jaipur Pink Panthers
Deepak Niwas Hooda became the costliest buy in the history of Pro Kabaddi League after Jaipur Pink Panthers bought him for Rs. 1.15 crore. Hooda had racked up 172 raid points last season. He had finished on seventh spot in terms of total points, with 186 points under his belt. His base price was just Rs. 20 lakh.
Nitin Tomar to Puneri Paltan
Nitin Tomar was also snapped up for Rs. 1.15 crore by Puneri Paltan. Last season, Tomar had attracted a bid of Rs. 97 lakh, which had made him the most expensive buy of 2016/17. Ace raider, Nitin Tomar had accumulated 167 raid points from 20 matches in last year's campaign. In terms of raids points, he was on eighth spot.
Rishank Devadiga to UP Yoddha
Rishank Devadiga was retained by U.P. Yoddha for a massive sum of Rs. 1.11 crore. This makes him the third most expensive player in the history of the league. The Mumbaikar is one of the most consistent players in the Pro Kabaddi League, with 449 raid points in 80 matches.
Fazel Atrachali to U Mumba
Iranian Kabaddi star Fazel Atrachali was the first player to attract a bid of Rs. 1 crore. His services have been acquired by U Mumba. The 26-year-old had a base price of Rs. 30 lakh. He is the only defender in the 'crorepati' club. Last season, he had 54 successful tackles to his name in 24 matches.
Abozar Mohajermighani to Telugu Titans
Another Iranian, Abozar Mohajermighani is the next biggest buy at this year's auction in Mumbai. Telugu Titans opted to fork out Rs. 76 lakh for Mohajermighani and his previous franchise Gujarat Fortunegiants refused to exercise its 'Final Bid Match' option. He became the first foreign player who was sold on Wednesday.
