Senior Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami was purchased by Gujarat Titans in the mega Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction on Saturday. Shami, who was released by Punjab Kings, did a commendable job of late in the tournament. The former Delhi Capitals bowler was one of the 10 marquee players in the auction list. He was bought for a whopping Rs. 6.25 crore.

Shami was bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2019 auction. The right-arm pacer attracted an intense bidding war between defending Chennai Super Kings and Punjab. However, with a limited price purse, CSK lost the player to Punjab for Rs 4.8 crore.
