Mohammed Shami fails fitness test, out of Afghanistan Test
Life seems to be only getting more and more difficult for Mohammed Shami. He was left out of the Indian squad for the upcoming one-off Test against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. The Indian seamer, who has been embroiled in controversies over the last few months, failed his fitness test at the NCA in Bengaluru. For the same reason, he was dropped from the squad.
Delhi's Navdeep Saini to replace Mohammed Shami
Delhi speedster Navdeep Saini, who had a phenomenal Ranji season bagging 34 wickets in 8 games, has been rewarded with a national call-up. He will replace Mohammed Shami in the squad. The Delhi pacer will be joining the side captained by Ajinkya Rahane, in the absence of Virat Kohli, late on Monday. The historic Test commences on Thursday.
Last few months have been troublesome for Shami
Mohammed Shami, who is a regular in the Indian squad, has seen his career go downhill after his wife laid several allegations against him. Even though the Bengal speedster played in 208 IPL, but he was far from impressive. He was named in the World XI squad to replace Hardik Pandya against West Indies on May 31, but gave it a miss.
Ishan Kishan will replace Sanju Samson in India A squad
The Indian team has also called fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Rajneesh Gurbani to attend training sessions and bowl in the nets. Ankit Rajpoot was also summoned. However, the Uttar Pradesh fast bowler is unwell. Ishan Kishan has been named in the India 'A' squad after Sanju Samson was left behind for the England tour, after he failed Yo-Yo endurance test.
