Mohamed Salah likely to leave Liverpool after ongoing season
Star forward, Mohamed Salah, has once again indicated that the ongoing football season will be his last with Liverpool. Salah spoke about the same after Liverpool's one-sided 3-0 win over Manchester United in the 2024/25 Premier League encounter on September 1. Despite the team's impressive performance and win, Salah's post-match statement about his future with Liverpool took center stage. Here are further details.
Salah's future with Liverpool remains uncertain
In the post-match interview, Salah stated, "I had a good summer, a long time to stay with myself and think positively a bit, this is my last year with the club and I want to enjoy it." He further added that he feels free to play football and is unsure about what the next year holds for him. The 32-year-old player also revealed that no discussions regarding contracts have taken place with the club.
What about Salah's contract?
Salah is yet to sign a new deal at the Reds, with his contract set to expire this summer. Earlier, Liverpool rejected a £150m offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah last September. The Egypt national team captain joined the Reds for £34m from AS Roma in 2017. In July 2022, Salah signed a new three-year deal. As per reports, it made him the highest paid player in the club's history, on more than £350,000 a week.
