Egypt name World Cup squad; include injured Salah
There is some positive news for Egypt and Mohamed Salah fans after the Liverpool forward was included in the 23-man 2018 FIFA World Squad on Monday. Salah is currently recovering from an injury which he suffered during the UEFA Champions League finale against Real Madrid on May 26. He is expected to meet his team mates on June 9. Here is more!
Salah is expected to play some role
Salah was expected to take at least three weeks to recover from the injury. He is definitely going to miss Egypt's opening game against Uruguay. But there is hope that he could play a part in the next two ties (Russia on June 19, Saudi Arabia on June 19). He will take part in an open training session in Cairo on June 9.
Salah will hope to shake off rustiness
Egypt played out a 0-0 draw against Colombia and will next play Belgium on Wednesday. With Salah not participating in both games, he could be a bit rusty when making it to the pitch in Russia. He will hope he can still influence the game.

Salah's presence crucial for Egypt
The Liverpool star scored an emphatic 95th minute winner in the nation's final qualification game. The last-gasp penalty helped the nation qualify for the World Cup after a period of 28 years. The 2017-18 season was a career defining one for Salah as he netted 44 goals for Liverpool across all competitions. His match-winning attributes could be of major help for his side.
