IPL: MI defeat RCB, who is the winner and sinner?
Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede in match number 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. Mumbai scored a mammoth 213/6 in 20 overs and in pursuit of the chase, RCB faltered badly, losing wickets at regular intervals. Virat Kohli (92*) played well for RCB but none of the other batsmen took charge. Here we analyze the winner and sinner.
Rohit Sharma is winner of the game
MI skipper Rohit Sharma played the innings of the IPL 2018, where he finally came to the groove and had his say. Rohit smashed a 52-ball 94 to help Mumbai get to 213 runs. He shared a 108-run partnership with Evin Lewis, which was the turning point of the game. MI were 0/2 as Umesh Yadav had struck in the first two deliveries.
Corey Anderson is sinner of the game
The Kiwi all-rounder replaced Brendon McCullum in the line-up but it did not go as planned. Anderson leaked away runs as MI batsmen plundered him for 47 from his four overs. The all-rounder then got out off the first ball he faced. It was an opportunity for Corey, but his wicket saw RCB lose more ground.
Stat analysis MI vs RCB
This was the fifth successive time MI have gone on to beat RCB. The meet in Mumbai also saw the hosts take a 5-3 margin at MI's home ground. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli's love for Wankhede grew prominence after he smashed an unbeaten 92 runs.
