Mumbai Indians have kept their chances of playoffs alive as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 13 runs. Batting first, Mumbai posted 181/4. In response, KKR scored 91 runs off their first ten overs and needed 91 in the next 10, but fell short of the target by 13 runs. Here are the records that were broken in this fixture.
Suryakumar Yadav's stellar season continues
Suryakumar Yadav has now scored the most runs in IPL by an uncapped player. He has 1,011 runs in 65 matches at an average of 26.20. He surpassed Manan Vohra, who has 1,004 IPL runs under his belt. Mumbai Indians must be disappointed with their finishers today as they added just 78 off their last nine after scoring 103 in 11 overs.
Uthappa joins the list of IPL elite
Robin Uthappa became the sixth IPL batsman to get to score 4,000 runs. Only Raina, Kohli, Sharma and Gambhir have more runs than Uthappa in IPL. Notably, since 2015, Robin Uthappa has scored at over 130 in the first ten balls of his innings.
Hardik Pandya is having a fruitful IPL
Hardik Pandya is now the most successful bowler in 2018 IPL. He holds the Purple Cap with 14 wickets to his name. The 24-year-old has also scored 169 at an average of 33.80 and a strike rate of 128.03. His all-round abilities make him one of the most valuable players for Fantasy XI lovers in this edition of IPL.
KKR's batting was below par today
Kolkata Knight Riders were cruising at a run rate of 8.96 before Robin Uthappa's dismissal. After his dismissal, the run rate dropped to six. Unlike previous editions, Uthappa has not been able to finish games this term.
