Mumbai Indians bowled well to defend 136/7 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number 19 of the Indian Premier League (IPL). MI were in all sorts of trouble, before Kieron Pollard jailed them out with a late flourish. SRH couldn't quite stay in sync with the bat after Alzarri Joseph took six wickets on debut. Alzarri Joseph recorded the best bowling figures in IPL history (6/12). He broke the record held by Sohail Tanvir (6/14) in 2008 against CSK.

Kieron Pollard (46*) smashed four sixes against SRH. He now has 161 IPL sixes. Pollard went past Yusuf Pathan in terms of career IPL sixes (159). Mohammad Nabi (1/13) picked up his seventh wicket this season. He has the best economy rate in IPL 2019 (3.75). Sandeep Sharma (1/20) equalled Pragyan Ojha in terms of career IPL scalps (89).
Warner and Bairstow surpass 500-plus partnership runs
David Warner and Jonny Bairstow added 33 runs for the first wicket. Prior to this, the two had smashed 50-plus partnerships in the first four matches for SRH. However, the two batsmen surpassed the 500-run mark as a pair (510) at a strike-rate of 172.16.

Bairstow has been dismissed by a leg-spinner for the fifth successive time in IPL 2019. He has been dismissed by Piyush Chawla (KKR), Shreyas Gopal (RR), Yuzvendra Chahal (RCB), Rahul Tewatia (DC) and now Rahul Chahar (MI). Bairstow also became the second batsman to get past the 250-run mark in IPL 2019 (262). Warner (279) leads the proceedings.
Rohit hits 186th IPL six, Bhuvi gets to 123 wickets
Siddarth Kaul (2/34) is two wickets away from registering 50 scalps in IPL. Rohit Sharma (11) hit one six to get to 186 career maximums. He needs two more to equal Suresh Raina (188). Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/34) increased his tally to 123 IPL scalps. Rashid Khan (1/27) equalled Yusuf Pathan in terms of career wickets (42).
How did the match pan out?
Mumbai kept losing wickets are regular intervals. They were reeling at 97/7 after 17 overs. Pollard's cameo saw MI recover well in the last three overs. Kaul was pick of the bowlers for SRH. In reply, the hosts lost their openers quickly and then the middle order suffered against MI's top quality attack. West Indian pacer Joseph (6/12) was the star performer.
