Lionel Messi to skip Argentina's friendlies: Report
Argentina superstar, Lionel Messi is set to miss out on the nation's upcoming football friendlies, scheduled to be held next month. Argentina are up against Guatemala and Colombia and the side will not have their talisman Messi as per reports. Messi is believed to have let interim manager, Lionel Scaloni, known that he will not feature in these matches.
It's not known when Messi will return
Till now, there is no information about when will the Little Magician make a return to the national squad. Messi will take time to return and it isn't confirmed as of yet on whether he will feature in the Copa America 2019. The player recently helped Barcelona win the Spanish Super Cup and is gearing up for the 2018-19 La Liga season.
Will Messi call it quits once again?
The 31-year-old struggled to meet expectations when his side took the field in the FIFA World Cup 2018. Messi saw his side get knocked out by France in the Round of 16 and there were rumors that he may announce a retirement from international football for a second time. Scaloni was named for the interim manager after Jorge Sampaoli was sacked.
Our view: Messi to return for Copa America
Messi will most probably take a long rest before making a return for the Copa America 2019. He hasn't won a major trophy with his nation and the coveted event could be a last shot at glory. Messi isn't done yet!
