Germany boss feels Messi more complete than Ronaldo
German boss Joachim Low regards Barcelona and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi more complete than Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo. Germany could be in line to face both Argentina and Portugal in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which starts from June 14 onwards. When asked, which player would be a bigger threat for his side, Low picked Messi. Here's what Low said.
What does Low feel about the two legends?
When Low was asked, which of these superstars would he love to have in German colors, the manager clearly picked Messi. Low stated that despite CR7 being a sensational goal-scorer over the years, he has picked Messi because the latter is a complete footballer. He also added that Messi is a team player and his assist numbers make him a dangerous entity.
Messi, CR7 enjoy another productive season
Once again, both Messi and Ronaldo played a terrific season for their respective clubs. Messi helped Barca win the domestic double including La Liga title. He ended up with 45 goals in 54 matches. Ronaldo, on the other hand, displayed his strengths in the Champions League, scoring 15 goals and guiding Real to the final. He has 44 goals overall this season.
What the duo could offer in 2018 World Cup?
The Argentine played a crucial role in getting his side into the 2018 World Cup by winning a difficult round of qualifiers. Messi's linking-up with the likes of Paolo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain will be essential upfront. Versatile Ronaldo helped his side win the 2016 European Championship and will be the main asset in getting them goals as a lone striker upfront.
