Allwyn's global expansion strategy includes F1 partnerships
The deal with McLaren Racing is a part of Allwyn's larger global expansion strategy.
The lottery operator, active in seven markets across Europe and the US, aims to boost brand visibility through motorsport's global platform.
Meanwhile, the latest move comes after Allwyn's recent partnership with Formula 1, further highlighting its focus on growth through partnerships in the world of motorsport.
Joint enthusiasm
McLaren Racing and Allwyn share excitement over partnership
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, said he was delighted and stated, as quoted by McLaren, "We are delighted to welcome Allwyn to the McLaren Racing family. Off the back of a fantastic 2024 season in Formula 1, it's great to have an international brand like Allwyn join us at a time when the team - and the sport - is going from strength to strength."
Brand visibility
Allwyn's branding to feature on McLaren team assets
As part of the partnership, Allwyn's branding will be prominently displayed on various McLaren team assets.
These include the race cars and overalls of McLaren F1 Team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
The branding will also extend to touchpoints across the McLaren Shadow F1 Sim Racing Team and the McLaren F1 Academy, further enhancing Allwyn's visibility in the motorsport arena.
Enthusiasm
Allwyn's founder echoes Brown's words
Allwyn Founder Karel Komarek echoed Brown's sentiment, emphasizing that their collaboration with McLaren is fueled by a shared drive for excellence and innovation.
"This exciting partnership - alongside the partnership we announced earlier this week with F1 - is a big step forward on Allwyn's journey to expand its business and brand globally. Our collaboration with McLaren benefits from a shared drive to thrive, fuelled by technology and with innovation at its heart," he stated.
Constructors championship
McLaren seal F1 Constructors' Championship victory after 26 years
McLaren won the F1 Constructors' Championship for the first time in 26 years after Norris's glorious finish at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, this is McLaren's ninth Constructors' Championship but their first since 1998.
Despite an early setback, Norris held on to his pole position lead through all 58 laps in the final race at Abu Dhabi.
He kept Ferrari's Carlos Sainz at bay to clinch his fourth win of the year and seal McLaren's championship victory.
Contract
McLaren renew technical chief Prodromou's contract ahead of 2025 season
McLaren recently extended Peter Prodromou's contract as Technical Director, Aerodynamics, after their title-winning 2024 season.
Meanwhile, Prodromou, who took on the role in early 2023, was credited as a "key architect" in McLaren's resurgence.
Having returned to McLaren in 2014 as Chief Engineer, he now brings over 30 years of F1 experience.
The team sees his expertise as crucial for continued success in the Constructors' Championship.
McLaren announced the multi-year extension in a press release on Tuesday.
