IPL 2018: Mumbai Indians pick McClenaghan to replace injured Behrendorff
Mumbai Indians were quick in finding a replacement for injured Jason Behrendorff. They have gone ahead with a former employee, New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan as Jason's replacement. McClenaghan, who went unsold in 2018 auction, cost the defending champions Rs. 1 cr, which was his base price amount. IPL Technical Committee has approved this replacement.
Injury will delay Behrendorff's IPL debut
Australian speedster Behrendorff has played 2 T20Is and was bought for his base price of Rs. 1.5 cr. However, Behrendorff was ruled out of the 11th edition due to a back problem and will miss out on the chance to play his maiden IPL.
McClenaghan gets another chance in the IPL
Kiwi speedster McClenaghan, who had gone unsold in the auction this year, will now play his 4th season in the IPL. In the past, he has been a standout performer for the Mumbai Indians. He had bagged 19 wickets in the previous edition. Mumbai will kick off their IPL campaign against returning Chennai Super Kings on April 7 in Mumbai.
