Legendary Indian boxer Mary Kom has carved out a place for herself in sporting history by becoming the first female boxer to win six world championships.
The 35-year-old Kom, on Sunday, defeated Ukraine's Hanna Okhota at the finals of the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in New Delhi to clinch her sixth world title.

Kom defeated Okhota 5-0 in the final
Kom entered the finals of the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships with a stupendous tally of five gold medals and one silver at the competition over the years.
With greatness on her mind and sting in her punch, the ace boxer faced her final opponent in the 48-kg category, Hanna Okhota, and was declared the victor in a unanimous call.
Kom won 5-0.

Kom stands with the boxing greats now
Kom's win now takes her past Ireland's Katie Taylor in the Women's World Championship medal tally. While Taylor holds five golds, and one bronze, Kom, with her latest victory, now holds six golds and one silver medal.
Kom's sixth World Championship gold also makes her the second professional boxer (male or female) after Felix Savon to ever hold six world titles.
