Atletico crowned Europa League Champions: Match in numbers
Atletico Madrid rode through a superb show by Antoine Griezmann to beat Marseille in the final of the UEFA Europa League in Lyon. A brace from the Frenchman and a goal by skipper Gabi, helped the side see off the French side 3-0. This was the Spanish side's third Europa League title after having earlier won in 2010 and 2012.
Griezmann continues to deliver his magic
After scoring the vital away goal in the semi-final first leg encounter against Arsenal, Griezmann was on song in the final. The Frenchman capitalized on Andre Zambo Anguissa's poor misplaced touch to score the first goal. He then followed it up with a lovely dink to get the second. He has scored eight goals and assisted four in European competitions this season.
Special occasion for club hero Fernando Torres
It was one of the biggest nights for Atletico Madrid hero Fernando Torres. The Spaniard, who is bidding farewell to Atletico at the end of this season, made his 403rd appearance for the club. Since making his debut in 2000-01, this was the first major trophy he won with the club. He won three trophies at Chelsea in between that included the Champions League.
