Lukaku sends a strong message to United team-mates
Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United's Belgian forward, has a clear message for his club team-mates. He has asked United's squad not to be too worked up about their spats with manager Jose Mourinho, and get on with their jobs. Reportedly, numerous members of the United squad have fallen out with Mourinho, but Lukaku has asked them to deal with it.
United stars and their problems with Mourinho
Numerous stars like Pogba, Sanchez, Martial, and Lukaku himself have a patchy relationship with Mourinho for several reasons. Pogba was stripped of his leadership role, Sanchez believed his style was being restrained, whereas, Martial did not agree with the playing time that he was being given. Lukaku was benched by Mourinho for failing to score in several matches.
Lukaku had earlier claimed Mourinho is 'cool behind scenes'
This is not the first time Lukaku has stood up for his manager, doing so in August when he called the Portuguese 'really cool behind scenes'. Lukaku had labeled the tough nature of Mourinho's personality due to his hunger to win and perform better. "When he's upset, he's a type of person that you can really see that he's mad or angry", Lukaku said.
Lukaku on Mourinho's relationship with other players
Lukaku believes that even if players have a rift with the manager, it is better to deal with instead of sulking over it. The Belgian striker also said that he is not too concerned about Mourinho's relationship with other players, as it is not something that will affect him. "If he has an argument with somebody I mean, deal with it", he said.
United's on-field performance has shown positive signs
Without any doubt, United have developed their football in the last few matches. At the start of the season, they were terrible and lost against a weaker opponent like Brighton. Their pace has improved, and there is a marked advancement in the attacking section, with United playing more than just long balls. However, is this enough to match Liverpool, City, and Chelsea? No.
