What's the story

India hammered England in the fifth and final T20I at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on February 2. The Men in Blue sucessfully defended 247 after bowling the Brits out for 97. It was a concerted bowling effort from India. A record-breaking century from Abhishek Sharma laid the foundation for India's win. Here we look at England's lowest T20I totals against India (concluded innings).

103/10 in Providence, 2024

In the high-stakes semifinal of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, England were skittled out for a mere 103 runs by a clinical Indian bowling attack in Providence. The spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel ran riot over the English batters, taking three wickets each. Meanwhile, India scored 171/7 while batting first and won by a huge margin, reaching the final where they defeated South Africa. Rohit Sharma (57) starred with the bat for India.

#2

97/10 in Mumbai, 2025

The aforementioned Wankhede match witnessed India post a daunting 247/9 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant 135 from Abhishek. In response, the visiting team was bundled out for a paltry 97 runs in just 10.3 overs, losing the contest by 150 runs. While Philip Salt scored 55 for England, Mohammed Shami claimed three English wickets. No other England batter could even touch the 15-run mark.

#1

80/10 in Colombo (RPS), 2012

England's worst T20I outing against India came in the 2012 T20 WC, when they were bowled out for a record-low 80 runs in Colombo (RPS). It still remains England's lowest-ever T20I score. The English batters had no answer to lethal spin of Harbhajan Singh, who took four wickets in his spell and was named Player of the Match. India scored 170/4 in the first innings thanks to Rohit's 55*.
