Klopp feels Napoli defeat was best preparation for City game
Liverpool are up against Manchester City on Sunday in a blockbuster Premier League battle. The two sides are atop in the Premier League table with City above with superior goal-difference. Both sides have remained unbeaten in the league, which makes the tie more interesting. Liverpool lost to Napoli in the Champions League group match earlier this week. And this was Jurgen Klopp's view.
Losing against Napoli will help prepare against City: Klopp
Napoli deserved to win against the Reds, as they were the better side that night. Notably, Liverpool were blunt and didn't have a shot on target. And Klopp feels the loss would aid the side to perform better against City. "I didn't want to lose at Napoli but, if you ask me which is the best preparation mood wise, it's losing a game."
Liverpool haven't won in last thee matches
After a breathtaking start to the season, Liverpool haven't won in their last three games. They lost to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and drew against the same side in the league, before losing to Napoli. This game has thus become pivotal for Klopp's men. The Reds will be wary of City's threats and need to bring their best game on Sunday.
Liverpool key to have a different result
The Reds are keen to make amends for the defeat against Napoli. "We felt it now and we don't want to have that feeling again so we will fight with all we have for a different result," said Klopp. Liverpool had beaten City on three successive occasions across all competitions last season and that would give them an edge over Pep's men.
