Liverpool interested in buying Turkish midfielder Omur from Trabzonspor
Considering the well-balanced squad Liverpool have, it is quite interesting to see Jurgen Klopp interested in buying a new attacking midfielder. Klopp, reportedly, is eager to land Turkish midfielder Abdulkadir Omur from Turkish club Trabzonspor. Interestingly, Liverpool are aiming for someone, despite Klopp saying he would only sign a new player in cases of injuries or if the right one came their way.
Has Liverpool already made a move for the player?
Turkish newspaper Aksam revealed that Liverpool have already submitted a bid for the player, and the two clubs are currently undergoing discussions. Liverpool might buy him as a sort of a replacement for striker Dominic Solanke, whom they've sold to Bournemouth. Other clubs like Tottenham and Manchester City are also said to be interested in the player.
What do we know about Omur as a player?
Omur, who will be turning 20 in June, has made 56 appearances for his club, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists. He is an attacking midfielder who can play on both wings, can be deployed as a number 10, and has great technical ability with a penchant for accurate passes. The Reds have reportedly offered Trabzonspor £26.9 million for the youngster.
Here's what Omur had to say about speculations
Commenting on speculations about a move to Liverpool, Omur reportedly said, "Liverpool is a very important club, but the most important thing is Trabzonspor's interests."
Will this move hinge on Adam Lallana?
There have also been suggestions that Adam Lallana might be leaving the Merseyside club soon, with reports saying that clubs like Southampton and Fenerbahce are interested in Englishman. Lallana has been riddled with injuries for a long time, and might indeed leave the club soon. Notably, Liverpool are also interested in RB Leipzig's Timo Werner who has come out as a phenomenal German talent.
Liverpool's performance against City and upcoming matches
Klopp says Liverpool were apparently always behind Manchester City in terms of quality regarding the match between the two sides in which City stopped Liverpool's 21-games unbeaten run. Liverpool are currently four points ahead of City in the Premier League and face Brighton up next, on January 12.
