    What's the story

Liverpool have further cemented their place at the top of the Premier League, after a 2-0 win over Newcastle at Anfield.

The win puts them 13 points clear of their nearest rival Arsenal, who dropped points once again.

The victory was highlighted by goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, as head coach Arne Slot watched from the stands due to his two-game touchline ban.

In the absence of injured Alexander Isak, Newcastle depended on Callum Wilson for their attacking plans.

However, Wilson failed to equalize when he was presented with a clear opportunity.

This miss was capitalized upon by Mac Allister who scored Liverpool's second goal midway through the second half, effectively sealing their victory over Newcastle.

The in-form Mohamed Salah assisted the former Brighton midfielder.
