He batted with great intent and scored a brilliant 56 off 78 balls. He smoked eight fours and a six. During the course, he also went past 2,500 Test runs. A fine hand from Litton
Bangladesh responded robustly to Pakistan's first innings total of 448/6 (declared). The visitors were well placed at 218/5 when Litton arrived to bat. He added 114 runs with centurion Mushfiqur Rahim before falling to Naseem. Earlier, Shadman Islam (93) and Mominul Haque (50) contributed to Bangladesh's total as they went past 450 and gained the lead.
Das's powerful batting performance
On the third day of the first Test, Das was focused on building an innings to reduce Pakistan's lead. Babar Azam, the former Pakistan captain, attempted to disrupt Das's concentration through sledging. However, Das responded not with words but with his bat. He unleashed his fury on Naseem Shah, Pakistan's star speedster who bowled following the sledging incident.
Das dominated Naseem's over
Das's response to Azam's sledging was a fierce attack on Shah in the 89th over. He hit two consecutive fours off Shah's deliveries, followed by a six that cleared the stadium. The over concluded with another four from Das, resulting in a total of 18 runs. This display of batting prowess left Bangladesh at 316/5 at the end of Day 3, trailing Pakistan by 132 runs.
