    What's the story

The Indian Premier League has changed the face of cricket in India since its inception in 2008.

Several records have been set in the last 10 editions of the cash-rich tournament.

They say that records are meant to be broken, but there are some IPL records which were set in the inaugural season, that still stand intact. Let us have a look.

    6/14

Best bowling performance by Sohail Tanvir

Pakistani pacer Sohail Tanvir's 6/14 is still the best bowling figures in an innings in the Indian Premier League.

The 33-year-old, who played for Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural edition of the tournament, achieved the historic feat in the 24th match against the Chennai Super Kings.

Adam Zampa's 6/19 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016 is the second best effort so far.

    28 extras

Most extras conceded in an innings

Defunct Deccan Chargers hold the unwanted record of conceding the most extras in an innings.

After being dismissed for just 110 in the 4th match of 2008 IPL, Deccan Chargers bowlers gave away 28 runs as extras to the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The second in the list is Royal Challengers Bangalore, which gave away 27 runs to Punjab in 2011.

    4 catches

    Most catches in an innings

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the most number of catches in an innings in the IPL.

Sachin, who represented Mumbai Indians, claimed 4 catches in the 38th match of the IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders.

David Warner and Jacques Kallis also matched the feat in 2010 and 2011 edition of the IPL respectively.

    135 runs

Lowest aggregate score in a match

38th match of 2008 IPL also recorded the lowest aggregate score (overall) till date.

Kolkata Knight Riders were bowled out for 67 runs and Mumbai Indians chased down the target in 5.3 overs, thus taking the match aggregate to 135 runs in 20.5 overs.

In 2017, the match between Punjab and Delhi also had an aggregate score of 135, but in 25 overs.
