There are a number of football clubs in Europe, who are among the best in the world and have dominated the circuit for years. Germany's Bayern Munich are one of the biggest European heavyweights and have won a record Bundesliga titles (29). Being Germany's most successful club, it has also scripted a number of all-time records, as we take a look.
75,000 fans witness an intense clash against Schalke 04
Considering the record attendance for Bayern, it is debatable. Having played at over three venues to date, there is no official data as to their record attendance. However, Allianz Arena, which has been their home since 2005, has seen a record capacity crowd of 75,000. It came against FC Schalke 04 in February 2015, which saw both the teams playing a thrilling 1-1 draw.
Gerd Müller: The goal-scoring legend of Bayern
When it comes to the top goal-scorer at the club, the only and only name that would most certainly dominate for years is the German legend, Gerd Müller. Having scored 564 goals in 605 matches, Müller also holds the record of most League, European and Cup goals for the club. He is also the record German goal-scorer, having scored 735 goals in his career.
Sepp Maier: Bayern's Mr. Dependable
Consistent performance always overrules the number of goals scored by a player in every match or one's career. As far as playing the most number of matches for Bayern is concerned, Germany's Sepp Maier holds the record, having played 700 matches across competitions. He also holds the record of the most league and cup appearances, as being a goal-keeper made things easier for him.
Ottmar Hitzfeld: The silverware man for Bayern
The manager plays an immense and crucial role in the success of any club. Considering Bayern, there have been a number of managers who have had success. However, it was Ottmar Hitzfeld, who was the most successful in his two separate tenures at the club. Bayern won 14 trophies under him, including five Bundesliga honors and the Champions League. Tough to replicate this performance.
