In the 64th minute, Lionel Messi was handed the 'golden' opportunity to put Argentina ahead.
Aguero, who looked extremely dangerous, was brought down in the box by Magnusson, forcing the referee to point to the spot.
However, the five-time 'World Footballer of the Year' was left red-faced when Halldorsson denied him this opportunity from 12-yards out.
