LG Electronics not to renew Warner's contract after ball-tampering scandal
David Warner suffered another setback after LG Electronics decided not to renew its contract with him, following Warner's role in the ball-tampering scandal. Warner, who has already stepped down as vice-captain, was sent back home and has been banned for 12 months. LG Australia said that Warner's current contract is in its final weeks and it doesn't want to engage with him anymore.
'Will work with people who share our core brand values'
LG Australia released a statement saying that they will only work with ambassadors who share the same core values of keeping the interests of employees, stakeholders and customers first. This might just be a start and other brands might also soon pull-out.
Warner going down the wrong road
Steve Smith had revealed to the media last week that the leadership-group was involved in ball tampering incident against South Africa. Smith, who was banned for a Test by ICC, was sent back home alongside Warner and Cameron Bancroft by CA. Smith and Warner have stepped down from captaincy of Rajasthan and Hyderabad. Reportedly, now even Australians don't want to step on-field with Warner.
SA tour a forgettable one for Warner
Warner's 2018 tour of South Africa became a nightmare for him. In the first Test, he got involved in an altercation with Quinton de Kock. Now, the latest finding that he was the mastermind of ball-tampering incident has completely tarnished his image.
