Darren Lehmann set for a new coaching job
Former Australia head coach Darren Lehmann, who had stepped down after the fourth Test against South Africa in March, has got a new role with Cricket Australia. Lehmann will coach cricketers under the National Performance Program. The former Aussie player will be joining the likes of Troy Cooley, Ryan Harris and Chris Rogers towards helping the National Performance Squad.
Lehmann keen on continuing as a coach
Troy Cooley has gone on to claim that he has had a word with Lehmann, who is interested in remaining associated with Cricket Australia. Cooley added that the former Aussie coach is keen to lend his support for the development of young cricketers. Lehmann will be working with a targeted group of NPS players and will also be involved in the spin program.
Lehmann to add finesse
Cooley feels that the association of Lehmann will help young coaches like Ryan Harris and Chris Rogers. Both former Aussie Test players are learning the craft and Lehmann's vast knowledge will help them in their growth.
What did Lehmann achieve as Australian head coach?
