King Kohli crosses 900 rating points in the ICC rankings
Leading India from one victory to another on the South African soil, Virat Kohli, the unfazed Indian captain is, aggressively yet casually, adding record after record to his name. In his latest achievement, Kohli has crossed the 900-point mark in the ICC ODI rankings, the only Indian to do so. At 911 points, he now stands 7th in the ODI all-time rankings list.
Highest ODI rating in 27 years
Kohli's ODI rating of 909 is the highest ever in 27 years, since 918 achieved by Australia's Dean Jones 918 in 1991. This is also the best rating since Brian Lara's 908 in 1993.
900 plus in ODIs and Tests, a rare double
Virat Kohli is now the only second batsman to have achieved the rare double feat of crossing 900 points in both Test and ODI formats at the same time, after South Africa's AB de Villiers. He is the fifth batsman to go beyond the 900 mark in ODIs and Tests after Viv Richards, Brian Lara, Hashim Amla, and AB de Villiers.
Kohli on SA tour
Kohli's ratings soared in the light of scoring most runs in a bilateral ODI series in India's tour to South Africa. At a staggering 186 average, the Indian skipper smashed record 558 runs which includes three tons, in the 5-1 series win against South Africa.
Others who fared well, Bumrah and Rashid Khan
Afghanistan's young spinner, Rashid Khan has joined India's Jasprit Bumrah to occupy the top spot in ICC ODI bowler rankings. While Bumrah moved up two spots to become the joint number 1 after picking up 8 wickets against South Africa in the recently concluded series. Rashid Khan raced to the top after taking 16 wickets against Zimbabwe helping Afghanistan win 4-1 in the series.
