Lankan Premier League postponed due to SLC troubles
There seems to be no end to the ongoing crisis in Sri Lankan cricket, which has now forced the SLC to postpone Lankan Premier League. Russel Arnold, to-be tournament director of the Lankan Premier League, took to Twitter to make this announcement. He said the league has been postponed due to 'uncontrollable' reasons. The board is yet to make an official statement.

BCCI allowed Indian players to play in the LPL
LPL, which was brought to life by former SLC chief Thilanga Sumathihpala, had earned the backing of the BCCI. The names of Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Yusuf Pathan were being associated with the tournament. Indian players would have made it a profitable event. Interestingly, the BCCI does not let Indian players to play across other global leagues.
Lankan Premier League postponed for the third time
This comes as a massive blow, as it is the third time that the T20 tournament has been postponed or cancelled by the Lankan board. SLC tried to conduct the tournament between 2011 and 2013 but could only host it once in 2012. Since then, SLC has failed to revive the tournament. Notably, they still hold domestic T20 tournaments.
Lack of preparations could see tournament getting cancelled
The LPL has failed to bring any commercial partners on board. The SLC board's troubles have created several hurdles as no teams, auctions or drafts have been announced till now. It looks like another cancellation is likely to take place. With no LPL, Lankan players will now be free to compete in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League before the tour of South Africa.
