IPL 2018: Kohli asks for forgiveness for RCB's dismal season
What's the story
RCB skipper Virat Kohli has asked for forgiveness from the fans after another disappointing campaign in the Indian Premier League.
RCB have been one of the most inconsistent sides in IPL and this time, as well, they ended sixth in the table.
The manner in which they collapsed in the virtual knockout game against Rajasthan Royals highlighted the issues for them.
Statement
RCB skipper sorry for not living up to expectations
Virat stated that the season didn't go as planned and he is deeply sorry for not living up to the expectations of fans.
Kohli added that it is up to the players to learn from such campaigns and turn it around next season.
He also cited that it is not always possible to get what you want, despite the team looking to do well.

I really believe in the concept of, "you either win or you learn". We fought hard and gave it our all but one thing is for sure, next season we definitely will bounce back stronger than ever with our learnings from this season.

Failures
Batsmen let Kohli down
It was one of those campaigns, once again, where RCB's middle-order failed miserably.
Everything was riding on the shoulders of skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
The duo were in the thick of action, but inconsistency from the rest defined their term.
A livid Kohli had acknowledged this fact post his side's last match.
Poor start
Early losses hurt them bad
Five losses in the first seven games made the task impossible for RCB.
In those games, the death bowling was weak. Further, they were let down by their fielders.
With the batting not clicking as well, it was a period of uncertainty.
They came together to stitch three crucial successive victories in the end, but the sheepishness against RR undid all the good work.
