India beat Australia in second ODI: Here're records broken

India rode on Virat Kohli's splendid century to win the second ODI versus Australia and take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. India came back into the match with the ball and restricted the Aussies in the chase. As always, Jasprit Bumrah was exceptional at the death. Earlier, India were bowled out for 250, with Kohli amassing 116 runs. Here're the records broken.

Virat Kohli scripts a plethora of records
Virat Kohli became only the sixth captain to score 9,000-plus runs in international cricket. Notably, he is the fastest of them. Kohli achieved the feat in 159 innings. The previous holder of this record was Ricky Ponting (204 innings). The 30-year-old also became the first player to score seven-plus centuries against three different teams in ODIs. (Sri Lanka: 8, Windies: 7, Australia: 7).

Kohli's love for centuries sees him break records
Kohli notched his 40th ODI career ton. He achieved the feat in his 216th ODI inning. Legend Sachin Tendulkar had reached the landmark in 355 innings. He needs 10 more tons to surpass Tendulkar (49 ODI tons). Kohli went past Lankan Mahela Jayawardene (39) as he now has the third most centuries in Asia in international cricket (40). Kohli has overall 65 international centuries.
Ducks
Dhoni, Rohit claim unwanted records with ducks
MS Dhoni was out for a golden duck in the second ODI. This was his fifth golden duck in ODI cricket and a second against Australia. His last golden duck in ODIs had come against the Aussies in 2010. He has 10 ODI ducks in total. Rohit Sharma notched his 13th duck in ODIs. Today was his first duck at home in ODI cricket.

Jadeja surpasses 2,000 runs in ODIs, Kohli reaches this landmark
Ravindra Jadeja (21) surpassed the 2,000-run mark in ODI cricket (2,011). He became only the third Indian player to record 2,000-plus runs and take 150-plus wickets for India in ODIs after Kapil Dev and Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli now has 1,000 fours in ODI cricket. He became only the fourth Indian to achieve this feat after Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag.
Individual feats
Some individual feats achieved during the second ODI
Pat Cummins (4/29) picked up his fifth four-wicket haul. He now has 69 ODI wickets and went past the likes of former Aussie bowlers Michael Kasprowicz and James Hopes (both 67). Adam Zampa (2/62) needs four wickets more to notch 50 ODI scalps. Vijay Shankar (46) scripted his best score in ODIs. He was the only Indian player to hit a six on Tuesday.
