The 2018 IPL auction is complete and most franchises have built a great squad. The attention now shifts to preparing for the tournament and RCB skipper, Kohli is leaving no stone unturned. RCB ask Delhi cricketers to undergo fitness tests
A report that was published in The Hindu claimed, that Delhi cricketers Pawan Negi, Navdeep Saini and Kulwant Khejroliya have been asked by their skipper to clear the Yo-Yo endurance test. RCB are yet to win an IPL trophy and had a poor campaign last season. They are looking to set things right ahead of the 2018 season.
What is a player required to do during Yo-Yo test?
During the test, two rows of cones are place 20m apart and the player is required to run between the rows. Each run is timed with three beeps indicating start, turn and finish. The timing between the beeps constantly decreases and if the player gets beaten by the beep twice, the test ends. Final score is calculated by laps completed and the speed gathered.
Kohli's push for a 100% fit team
Under Virat Kohli's leadership, clearing the Yo-Yo test is the number one criteria for getting selected into the Indian national team. Even former established stars like Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh were kept out of the Indian squad until they cleared the endurance test. Yo-Yo test evaluates the player's ability to run for an extended period of time.
