1st T20I, India beat West Indies: List of records broken
India overcame West Indies to take a 1-0 in the three-match T20I series. With this victory, India chased down their highest target in T20Is. Batting first, West Indies muscled their way to 207/5 in 20 overs. In reply, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul batted sensibly to seal the match against the West Indies. Here are the records broken.
West Indies register second-highest T20I score against India
This was the second time where West Indies managed to score in excess of 200 against India in T20Is. It is their second-highest score against India in T20Is. This was also West Indies' fifth-highest total in T20Is. WI registered the second-highest T20I total on Indian soil by an opposition team against the Men in Blue. Their 15 sixes is now the third-most against India.

WI skipper Kieron Pollard (37) now has 990 career T20I runs. He smashed four sixes and raced to 55 career maximums. Evin Lewis (40) went past 50 career T20I fours (51). Lewis, who smashed four sixes, now has 25 maximums against India. Shimron Hetmyer (56) smashed his maiden career T20I fifty. Brandon King amassed his highest score in T20Is (31).
Chahal joint-highest T20I wicket-taker for India
Deepak Chahar (1/56) notched the third-worst bowling figures in a T20I match for India. However, the right-arm pacer has registered the most wickets in T20 cricket in 2019 by pacers (53). Yuzvendra Chahal (2/36) now has 52 career T20I scalps. He went past Jasprit Bumrah (51) and is the joint-highest T20I wicket-taker for India alongside R Ashwin (52).
Rahul seventh Indian to surpass 1,000 career T20I runs
Rohit Sharma has claimed the second-most catches for India (37). He went past Kohli (36). KL Rahul (62) became the seventh Indian to surpass 1,000 career T20I runs. Both Rahul and Pollard went past former South African captain Graeme Smith (982) in terms of career T20I runs. Rahul has taken 29 innings to reach the 1,000-run mark. He equaled Aaron Finch's tally.

Rahul notches seventh T20I fifty, Kohli surpasses 2,500 runs
Rahul notched his seventh career T20I fifty. The Karnataka batsman went past Quinton de Kock (1,018) in terms of career T20I runs. Kohli became the second batsman to surpass 2,500 career T20I runs. Rohit (2,547) leads the chart for most runs in T20Is. Kohli registered his 23rd career T20I fifty. He has the most fifty-plus scores in T20Is.
Rahul and Kohli share 100-run stand
Rahul and Kohli shared a 100-run stand for the second wicket. This is now the eighth century-plus stand in T20Is between India and West Indies. This partnership is also the third-highest stand for the second wicket between the two sides.
How did the 1st T20I pan out?
West Indies lost Lendl Simmons (2) right at the start. However, Lewis and King took the game away from India with a 51-run stand for the second wicket. Hetmyer and Pollard continued with the momentum, before Jason Holder (24*) thrived with a cameo. In reply, Rohit departed early, however, Rahul and Kohli got the scorecard moving. Their efforts helped India seal a crucial win.
