Klopp heaps praises on Chelsea before League Cup clash
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp heaped praises on his Chelsea counterpart, Maurizio Sarri before the two teams meet tonight for their League Cup match. Klopp says that the way Sari has overhauled Chelsea's tactics, is fantastic. He also added that he has been an admirer of Sarri since his days at Napoli. More details follow.
Klopp says Sarri's Chelsea are clear title contenders
Klopp believes Chelsea are contenders for the Premier League title, after having started the season on a high note. Chelsea have lost just two points in their first six matches. Klopp said, "They won the title already- I'm not sure but 80 percent of them probably twice, and they know how it works. So that's a really good group, a really strong football team."
Sarri's tactics at Chelsea are receiving wide acclaim
Maurizio Sarri has already created a stir among English football fans and pundits with his new footballing philosophy. The Sarri-Ball defense is a line of five defenders who continue pressing the forwards and take possession from them. From there, the ball is passed higher up the pitch to the forwards who then create chances. The method has also been dubbed "vertical tiki-taka" by some.
Mignolet, Lovren to feature in tonight's encounter
Klopp has confirmed that goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will make his first appearance of the season tonight against Chelsea. Dejan Lovren, who is back from his injury might also feature in tonight's squad. Klopp also made it clear that Liverpool will not be taking the competition lightly and will field a strong team. League Cup is not usually taken seriously by Champions League contenders.
