Salah 100% deserves PFA Player of the Year award: Klopp
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp feels Mohamed Salah is the right candidate to bag the Premier League PFA Player of the Year award. The German said that as per him Salah 100 percent deserves the top prize. Salah has been in breathtaking form this season scoring 29 goals and making 9 assists. And Klopp expects him to perform in the same vein in the future.
Salah in a zone of his own
The Egyptian is in line to win the Golden Boot as he is leading Harry Kane (24) by five goals. Recently he equalled Robin van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo's record of scoring in 21 matches in a 38-game season. Salah needs 3 more goals to become the highest scorer in a single EPL season. With six games to go, he can achieve the feat.
Kevin De Bruyne is also in the race
Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne is another star contender for the EPL PFA Player of the Year award. De Bruyne has 15 assists to his name, which is the highest in this season and has also scored seven goals. He has helped Manchester City remain the top team the entire season and City are only a win away from securing the coveted EPL title.
Duo making headlines as the race heats up
As the two leading candidates face each other this week in the Champions League 1st leg quarter-finals, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the duo. According to reports, De Bruyne has refuted comparisons between him and Salah. The player said that he is happy with his performance and also praised Salah for being in an incredible form.
Our opinion: Who could win the PFA award?
Both players have been superb and deserve all the plaudits for winning games for their sides. There are thin lines to separate the two. But De Bruyne could win the award simply because he has played an important role for virtual champions City.
