KL Rahul becomes fifth Indian to complete 7,500 T20 runs
Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul has completed 7,500 runs in T20 cricket. The star opener reached the milestone with his third run against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 57 of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday. Rahul is now the fifth Indian batter to reach this feat. Here we decode his stats.

Rahul took 224 games and 211 innings to complete 7,500 runs in the format. He averages 42-plus in the format as his strike rate reads 136-plus. The tally includes six tons besides 64 fifties with 132* being his best score. Among Indians, only Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Suresh Raina own more runs in the format.

Playing his 130th IPL game, Rahul owns 4,600-plus runs at a 46-plus average. His strike rate reads 135-plus. He owns 40 fifty-plus scores, including four tons. The LSG star is closing in on 450 runs in the ongoing season. Against SRH, he has tallied 440-plus IPL runs, averaging a staggering 40-plus. The tally includes four fifties.
Over 1,300 runs for LSG
Earlier in the season, Rahul became the first batter to complete 1,000 runs for LSG. He has now raced past 1,330 runs across 36 games for the franchise, averaging 43-plus (100s: 2, 50s: 9). The opener made 616 runs at 51.33 in his maiden season with the Super Giants in IPL 2022. He could only manage 273 runs at 34.25 last year.
Over 2,000 runs in T20Is
Besides IPL, Rahul has also been a prolific performer in T20Is though he has not played in the format since November 2022. Having played 72 games, he has so far scored 2,265 runs with his average and strike rate being 37.75 and 139.12 respectively. The batter has smashed 22 fifties alongside two centuries. He owns as many as 99 sixes in the format.
