KKR vs LSG IPL match shifted to Guwahati: Here's why
What's the story
The Indian Premier League 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has been shifted from Kolkata's Eden Gardens to Guwahati's Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
The match was scheduled on April 6, the day of Ram Navami festivities, raising security concerns.
The decision was taken after local authorities informed the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) that they cannot provide adequate security.

Venue change
Guwahati to host 2 home games of Rajasthan Royals
The match, earlier scheduled for April 6 at Eden Gardens, will be played in Guwahati now.
The city is already set to host two home matches of Rajasthan Royals on March 26 and March 30.
The game was shifted after CAB formally requested a venue change, citing security concerns as Ram Navami celebrations will coincide with the match day.
Past precedent
KKR vs LSG: A repeat of last year's situation
Notably, this is not the first time a KKR match has been rescheduled due to Ram Navami celebrations. Last year too, a KKR game had to be rescheduled for the same reason.
CAB President Snehashish Ganguly confirmed that city police have expressed their inability to provide enough security for the match scheduled at Eden Gardens as it clashes with Ram Navami celebrations in Kolkata.

The IPL governing body is yet to release an official statement on this last-minute schedule change for IPL 2025.
