IPL 2018: Chris Lynn resumes business in the nets
Kolkata Knight Riders opener Chris Lynn seems to be fit again as he was seen batting in full flow, alongside Sunil Narine, during the practice sessions held on Monday at the Eden Gardens. Lynn had suffered a shoulder injury during the T20I tri-series against New Zealand and England. His injury had put his participation in doubt in the opening games of the IPL.
Injury prone Lynn seen using specially-designed shoulder stabilizer
Chris Lynn has a history of shoulder problems. To keep himself injury free, Lynn was in the nets with a specially-designed shoulder stabilizer. This equipment was given to him by rugby league star Johnathan Thurston.
Mitchell Johnson opts to rest
Veteran speedster Mitchell Johnson was also present at the training session but the 36-year-old opted to rest. Johnson will be a key player in the side after Aussie spearhead Mitchell Starc was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. English medium pacer Tom Curran has been named as Starc's replacement.
Worried Narine continues to bowl in the nets
Sunil Narine was recently pulled up for his bowling action during the Pakistan Super League last month. However, he was also seen giving it a go in the nets alongside the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla. The Knight Riders had a training session in the evening which lasted more than 3 hours.
KKR paying a lot of attention to the pitch
KKR know that the pitch will play a huge role in the matches. For the same reason, captain Dinesh Karthik, coach Jacques Kallis and bowling coach Heath Streak were seen consulting Sourav Ganguly and pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee. Motivational speaker Mike Horn, who has helped KKR win the IPL in the past, was also present during the training session.
