He attained the landmark on Day 2 of the first Test between Sri Lanka and Australia in Galle.
Australia resumed Day 2 on on 330/2 after 81.1 overs were possible yesterday.
Khawaja started his exploits with an 147*. Steve Smith was unbeaten on 104.
On Day 2, Smith perished for 141 before Khawaja marched ahead.

Khawaja has dominated the Lankans
Alongside Smith, Khawaja deflated the Sri Lankan bowlers on Day 1.
Day 2 continued in the same vein as both players cashed on.
After a watchful first few overs, Khawaja hit the first four of the day right after crossing 150. He played his shots and handled spin beautifully.
Once Smith departed (141), Josh Inglis joined Khawaja. A rapid 74-run stand followed.
