Fans are set for an enthralling sporting action this month with several blockbuster events happening across the globe. From cricket, football, Formula One and Commonwealth Games, fasten your seat belts for a bumper April showdown. It cannot get bigger and better than this. Here is the schedule for all the tournaments lined up in April 2018.

Athletics

21st Commonwealth Games- April 4 till 15

Get ready for the 21st Commonwealth Games starting from April 4 at Gold Coast. A total of 218 athletes will represent India with ace shuttler PV Sindhu leading the contingent in the opening ceremony. India have performed well in Commonwealth Games in the past and another chance beckons for them to do well. India won 64 medals in the 2014 edition finishing fifth.

T20 League

Cricket: Indian Premier League 2018

The Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) kicks off from April 7 and will run till May 27. One can enjoy so much of cricket action this month with eight franchises battling it out. Holders Mumbai Indians open the campaign against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede on the opening day. The cash-rich league is once again set to gain the attention of fans.

Football schedule round-up

The UEFA Champions League matches are also scheduled in April. The two-legged last-eight tie is on April 4 and 5 (IST) before the return leg a week later. The semis first leg tie will also be played on April 24-25. The FA Cup semi-final ties will be held on April 21 and 22. Meanwhile regular action from top European leagues will continue.

F1, tennis and other events

In Golf, it's time for Augusta Masters that would take place between April 5-8. After Indian Wells and Miami Open, tennis fans will be geared up for the Monte Carlo Masters from April 15-22. Sebastian Vettel started the Formula One 2018 season with a bang in March and there are three races lined up this month the Bahrain, Chinese and Azerbaijan GP.
