Indian batter Karun Nair aspires to play Test cricket again

Talented Vidarbha and India cricketer Karun Nair has expressed his desire to make a comeback to the Indian Test team.
This comes after he was not picked for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Despite the setback, Nair aspires to play Test cricket again for Team India.
"I still have the dream of playing Test cricket for India," he said during an interview with Sports Today.

Record triple-ton for Team India
Nair, who last played for Team India in 2017, has an impressive Test record.
He has racked up 374 runs from six matches at a remarkable average of 62.33. His best achievement is his unbeaten triple-century (303* vs England, 2016).
Nair is one of only two Indians with a triple-ton in Test cricket.
Apart from his Test career, he has also played two ODIs for India.
Domestic success
Record-breaking performance in Vijay Hazare Trophy
Despite not being a part of India's Champions Trophy squad, Nair has been making waves in the domestic circuit.
He scored a staggering 779 runs in just eight innings at an average of 389.50 in the 2024/25 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
With five centuries and a half-century, he was the highest run-scorer of the tournament, and caught the attention of selectors and cricket experts alike.
Recognition
Nair earned Tendulkar's praise for VHT
Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar had earlier praised Nair for his phenomenal performance in the 2024/25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, commending his dedication and perseverance.
Thanking Tendulkar for the praise, Nair said getting appreciation from his childhood hero was one of the "greatest feelings ever."
He stressed on the need to perform consistently in every match as he continues to work toward a return to international cricket.
