Jasprit Bumrah has been the cynosure of all eyes after his heroics in the recently concluded third Test, between India and Australia, at the MCG. The right-arm fast bowler was the star of the Indian attack. Bumrah took nine wickets in the match and helped India win the Test. Legend Kapil Dev has gone on to shower his praise on the bowler. Bumrah picked a record 48 wickets in Tests in 2018
Bumrah picked a total of 48 wickets in nine Test matches in 2018. All of his Test scalps came in overseas conditions. Bumrah, who had made his Test debut against South Africa earlier in 2018, went on to become the star asset of this Indian team. He was well supported by Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami. Bumrah's consistency made him stand out.
Bumrah has proved me wrong, says Kapil
According to a report in The Times of India, Kapil said that Bumrah has proved him wrong. Earlier, the legend felt that Bumrah wouldn't last long due to his unique action. "I have to tell you that Bumrah proved me wrong. Hats off to him and I really compliment him for his superlative show in Australia," said Kapil.
'These types of bowlers are unique'
"With such a short run-up, if he can generate 140-plus speeds consistently, you have to respect him. He has a special shoulder. These types of bowlers are unique," said Kapil about JB.
Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker in this series
Bumrah went on to dictate the show at the MCG with figures of 6/33 and 3/53. The fast bowler is currently the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing series (20). He is averaging a commendable 14.65. Bumrah also finished as India's highest wicket-taker in 2018. This is quite a growth for a cricketer in Tests. Bumrah is expected to lead the attack in Sydney.
