Manchester United need to cough up £200m for Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy could sanction the sale of Harry Kane to Manchester United this summer. According to a report in The Mail, the Red Devils will need to pay a staggering amount of £200m if they want to land Kane at Old Trafford. Kane had earlier hinted at moving on if Tottenham doesn't match his ambitions. Here's more.
Spurs ready to sell Kane after coronavirus impacts finance
Levy is prepared to sanction the departure of Kane due to the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on club's finances. Spurs need the cash injection for payments on their £1 billion stadium, for which they still owe £637m (loan). Levy is also said to be disappointed with Kane's recent comments that the Premier League season should be voided if it's not completed by June.
Kane open to finding a new destination
As per The Guardian, Kane had claimed earlier, "I love Spurs, I'll always love Spurs. But I've always said, if I don't feel we're going in the right direction then I'm not someone who will just stay for the sake of it." "I'm an ambitious player, I want to become one of the best players," the forward added.
Kane could surpass Neymar's £198m world record fee
Should United pay the fee Levy is wanting for Kane, it would eclipse the world record £198m fee for Neymar which French champions Paris Saint-Germain paid to Barcelona in 2007. United would definitely bolster their side with the signing of Kane, however, spending £200m is something that could prove to be difficult. Besides Kane, United are also linked with a move for Jadon Sancho.
Real to offer Bale, Rodriguez for Tottenham's Kane
Earlier, Mundo Deportivo reported La Liga giants Real are believed to be making an approach this summer for the England international. Real wouldn't be able to afford Kane with a direct valuation, however, they're prepared to sweeten the deal by sending Gareth Bale back to Tottenham, along with Colombia international James Rodriguez. Real are also in the market for Man United mid-fielder Paul Pogba.
