'PCB should learn...': Kamran Akmal after India beat Bangladesh
Kamran Akmal, a former Pakistani cricketer, has publicly criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for its perceived lack of professionalism. He suggested that the board should learn from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Akmal's comments come in light of Pakistan's recent subpar performances, which he attributes to internal issues within the PCB. India recently beat Bangladesh in Chennai, a side which recently routed Pakistan 2-0.
Akmal highlights BCCI's professionalism as a model
Akmal emphasized the need for PCB to emulate BCCI's professionalism, team management, and coaching staff. He stated, "PCB should learn from BCCI, their professionalism, their team, selector, captain and coaches. These are the things that make a team number one and dominate the world." He further argued that if Pakistan were truly proficient in these areas, its cricket scenario would not be in its current state.
Akmal blames PCB's internal issues for team's poor performance
Akmal blamed PCB's internal issues for the team's recent poor performances, stating "It is because of your ego Pakistan cricket is suffering." This statement was made following Pakistan's Test series loss to Bangladesh and their early exit from the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. He also highlighted the team's defeat to Sri Lanka in the 2022 Asia Cup final.
