Rahul's third century in six tests
Indian batsman K L Rahul scored his third century against West Indies in the second test at Jamaica. He scored 158 runs in 303 balls. His century put India in a good position in the match with a 162-run lead. Rahul opened India's batting along with Shikhar Dhawan after Murli Vijay was ruled out of the second test due to a thumb injury.
Early life and domestic debut
Kannur Lokesh Rahul is an Indian right handed batsman and wicket-keeper from Karnataka. Rahul started playing for Karnataka from the 2010-11 season at the age of 18. He became the first player from Karnataka to score a triple century in first class cricket scoring 337 against UP in 2014-15 Ranji Trophy. He made his Indian Premier League debut in 2013 for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Having made his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2013-14 season, Rahul was later bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014. But he returned to the Bangalore team in 2016 season.
K L Rahul in Australia
Rahul finished the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy season on a high note with an average of 93.11. Following that, he was selected in India's test team for the Australian tour. He made his debut in the third test of the series. However, his debut was not impressive. His maiden test century came in the fourth test where he scored 110 runs in the first innings.
KL Rahul's impressive debut against Zimbabwe
Rahul was selected in the test squad against Sri Lanka in 2015. He scored a century in the second test and also kept wickets in the absence of Wriddhiman Saha. He was selected for the Zimbabwe tour in 2016. He made his ODI debut in the first match, scoring unbeaten 100 runs. He became the first Indian to score a century on his debut.
First 'Man of the Series' award
Lokesh Rahul was declared the "Man of the Series" for the ODI series against Zimbabwe in June 2016. He scored a century, a half century and took three catches in the series of three ODIs.
