Jose Mourinho is eyeing a summer return to management
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing a return to coaching in the summer of 2019. The Portuguese is looking for the right project after being sacked by United in December 2018. The ex-Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter manager has turned down some offers and is waiting for the right job. Here's more.
Jose knows exactly what he wants and doesn't want
Several clubs would still be interested in getting the celebrated manager. "I would like to be back in the summer in June for a new club and a new pre-season. exact. I know what I want, in terms of not the specific club but the nature of the job, the dimension of the job." said Jose to BeIn Sports.
Jose was linked with a move to Real Madrid
Jose was linked with a return to former club Real Madrid in recent times, but they re-appointed Zinedine Zidane instead. A return to Spain is now all but over for Jose at the moment. After Real's loss against Ajax in the round of 16, several fans were seen chanting his name. But reports claimed that the senior players weren't keen on having him.
What are the options for Jose?
Like La Liga, a possible return to England can also be ruled out at the moment. That leaves Jose with two prime options - Germany and Italy. He could be tempted to go back to Inter Milan and get back the club fighting for top honors once again. Bayern Munich could be tempted as well if they miss out on the Bundesliga title.
Jose out international coaching
When asked about the possibility of managing an international team at the 2022 World Cup, Jose said, "I don't think so. I like daily football, daily work, many competitions. I like matches and I want to stay in football club level."
A look at Jose's time at United
Jose had joined United in 2016 and led the side to three trophies that season. He also had a decent second season at the club after leading them to a second-placed finish in the Premier League. The third season went awry for the manager and his relation with certain players hit rock bottom. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced him as the interim boss.
