Jose Mourinho accuses ManU players of being scared
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was irked with the team's performance against Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Even though United won the game 2-0, but Mourinho lashed out at the players citing there was no class besides them being scared to play. United were pretty much pedestrian all evening and here is what the manager opined.
Mourinho unhappy despite victory
In his post-match press conference, the Portuguese manager blamed everybody for the performance. Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic scored in United's 2-0 home victory. According to the BBC, Jose stated, "A few other guys, I saw them scared to play. I cannot say much more. It is a relation with personality, is a relation to trust, is a relation to class."
Performance hardly better than that against Sevilla
United, were ousted in the Champions League Round of 16, by Sevilla at Old Trafford on Tuesday. Post that game, Mourinho gave a 12-minute long interview to defend his Manchester United record. He had said that players need to grow up, besides talking about football heritage. United were hardly better against Brighton although they played at Old Trafford.
What next for Jose and United?
United are eyeing the FA Cup this season. FA Cup is their only chance of getting a silverware. They are second in EPL and play Swansea City next on March 31. After recent results, Jose will definitely want a top two finish.
