James Pattinson: News
An exciting and aggressive fast bowler from Victoria, Australian cricketer James Pattinson is a bowler from whom the expectations were sky-high. He was part of the Australian U-19 team for the 2008 U-19 World Cup. Pattinson's first tryst with fame came in the 2009-10 Ford Ranger Cup, where he took 6 for 48 for Victoria, besting a 40-year-old List A record for Victoria. Pattinson's domestic performances paid rewards when he was included in the Australian team for the 2010-11 Bangladesh tour when he made his international debut in an ODI in the series. It was his Test debut against New Zealand in the same year that set the world alight. He took five wickets in the second innings of the first Test. Pattinson took another fifer in the second Test and was adjudged the man of the series. For a player who was considered one of the best fast bowling prospects from Australia, Pattinson's presence in the international scene has been far and few. Recurring lower back issues kept him out of the team every time he returned. Pattinson holds an interesting record of being the only Australian fast bowler to have a five-wicket haul at Chepauk, Chennai.
