Yashasvi Jaiswal to bolster Mumbai's roster in Ranji Trophy semi-final
What's the story
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who just missed out on a place in India's ICC Champions Trophy squad, will now bolster Mumbai in their upcoming Ranji Trophy semi-final against Vidarbha.
The match will be held in Nagpur.
Jaiswal's addition strengthens a squad featuring Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Shardul Thakur.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal made his return to the domestic tournament in a match against Jammu and Kashmir back in January.
Career trajectory
Jaiswal's journey in Champions Trophy squad
Jaiswal was initially named in India's Champions Trophy squad in January but was later replaced by spinner Varun Chakravarthy when the final team was announced on February 11.
He made his ODI debut in the first match against England, stepping in for Virat Kohli, who was sidelined due to a knee injury.
Opening the innings alongside skipper Rohit, Jaiswal scored 15 off 22 balls before being dismissed by Jofra Archer.
Previous match
Jaiswal's performance in Ranji Trophy
As mentioned, before joining the Indian squad, Jaiswal had played a Ranji Trophy match against J&K.
Sadly, Mumbai lost the home game.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal was dismissed for just four runs in the first innings and was sent back after 26 runs in the second innings.
This match also saw skipper Rohit's return to the domestic championship.
Now, as the team gears up for their semi-final clash against Vidarbha, they will be hoping to use Jaiswal's talent and experience.
