Who is Owen Coyle?
Coyle was born in Paisley, Scotland, and started his playing career with Renfrew YM, while he made his senior club debut with Dumbarton. Playing as a striker, he amassed 249 goals in 669 matches, with his best stint being at Airdrieonians. He has won four titles with four different clubs. He also played a solitary game for the Republic of Ireland.
Coyle has a rich managerial career
It was in 2003 when Coyle started his managerial career with Falkirk as their co-manager. It was at St Johnstone since 2005 when he began his full-time managerial role. Later, he also coached former Premier League clubs like Burnley, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, and Blackburn Rovers. So far, he has managed in 463 games and won 178, with a win percentage of 38.4.
Coyle has been Premier League Manager of the Month
As for winning accolades as a manager, Coyle has won just two titles so far. However, he has won twin individual and prestigious accolades. He was awarded with the Premier League Manager of the Month on two occasions (November 2010 and March 2012).
