Who will Cristiano Ronaldo play for next season?
Real Madrid might have just won their 13th Champions League title but their celebrations were cut short when Cristiano Ronaldo cast a huge doubt over his future in Madrid. The 33-year-old has literally won everything in Spain and could seek a new challenge. Here we take a look at the potential destinations for the Portuguese ace.
Manchester United
Ronaldo has been quite vocal about his love for Manchester United. It is under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson that Ronaldo began to flourish as a world-class forward. He spent six years at Old Trafford and has won 3 Premier League titles, an FA Cup and the Champions League. United are one of the few clubs that can easily afford his wages.
Paris Saint-Germain
The Ligue 1 champions can surprise anybody especially given their financial muscle in the transfer market. Last year, the Paris outfit signed Neymar for a world record fee and now they could sign Cristiano Ronaldo since he has fueled speculation of wanting a move away from Madrid. But this transfer could only happen if Neymar parts ways with PSG.
Sporting CP
Another potential destination for the Portuguese ace would be his boyhood club. Most footballers like to return to their boyhood clubs after spending the best part of their career elsewhere. Ronaldo, too, could potentially return back to Portugal where it all began for him. However, he will have to take a massive pay cut for the comfort of home.
